Inside the name

SeaClouds (Seamless adaptive multi-cloud management of service-based applications) is an EU-funded research project, which focuses on the problem of deploying and managing complex multi-component applications over heterogeneous clouds in an ecient and adaptive way. SeaClouds allows developers to design, deploy, manage and configure complex applications across multiple and heterogeneous clouds, something unfeasible hitherto.

What is SeaClouds?

SeaClouds Capabilities

Matchmaking
Allows querying or browsing available cloud o erings (PaaS and IaaS) determining suitable ones based on application requirements.
Cloud Service Optimizer
Optimizes the deployment topology of an application across multiple clouds to address non-functional requirements.
Application Management
Supports efficient deployment and multi-cloud governance of a complex application various cloud o oferings (IaaS and PaaS) leveraging cloud harmonized APIs and platform-specific adapters.
Monitoring and SLA enforcement
Provides monitoring and independent metrics to allow operators to monitor the health and performance of applications, hosted across multiple Clouds.
Repairing
Scales horizontally and vertically cloud resources to maximize the performance of each module of an application
Replanning and Application migration
Provides a seamless migration of the application modules between dissimilar (but compatible) clouds, allowing the portability of an application.
